Before you begin

 

Gulf Islands School District will only accept complete applications using our secure online application system. Mailed, emailed, or faxed applications are no longer accepted. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

 

Required and recommended documents (see below) must be submitted as PDF or JPEG files only and less than 5MB each. If any document is larger than 5MB, it has been scanned at too high a resolution and must be rescanned at a lower resolution before beginning the application process.

 

Required documents

 

In order to be considered to be a homestay for the Gulf Islands International Program, the following documents are required. You can still apply without these documents, however they are required before your application is considered complete and a student can be placed.

 

1. Legal agreement. The parent(s) applying must sign our agreement. Before starting the application process, please download the Homestay Agreement, have it signed in ink, and scanned as a PDF or JPEG file only.
2. Criminal Record Check- Please complete your criminal check on line by going to

   or if you have a criminal record check, already completed within the last 5 years, you can scan as a PDF or JPEG file only.
3. Host Family Letter - please write a letter introducing your family and include your interests and hobbies. It will help the students get a better feel for who you are. Once complete, scan as a PDF or JPEG file only.
