Application Instructions - Rocky Mountain International Student Program

Before you begin

 

CONFIRM AVAILABILITY BY EMAILING info@rminternational.ca. DO NOT PROCEED UNLESS A SPACE HAS ALREADY BEEN SAVED/CONFIRMED FOR YOUR STUDENT.

 

The Rocky Mountain International Student Program (RMISP) will only accept complete applications using our secure online application system. Please ensure your application is fully complete prior to submission. Incomplete applications will not be processed and will be returned.

 

Before you begin the online application process, make sure you have collected all the necessary information and documents. You will need the applicant’s complete information and at least one parent’s complete information. This includes names, birthdates, addresses, etc. Required documents must be in PDF or JPEG format only and less than 5MB in size. If any document is larger than 5MB, it is too high a resolution and must be changed to a lower resolution before beginning the application process.

  

Admissions Standards


All students are expected to arrive with a minimum of grade-appropriate intermediate-level English reading, writing and comprehension, as well as good conversational English. 

Students must demonstrate good academic results and behaviour in their report cards from the past two years. Students should have no less than a C- or equivalent in all final marks, with a minimum overall average of at least a C or equivalent.

Required documents

 

In order to submit an application, the following documents listed below are required. All documents must be fully completed, signed, and ready for upload. If you do not upload these documents into the online application system, you cannot complete the application process. Required documents include:

  1. Application Forms: Legal Agreement, Course Preference Form, Ski and Snowboard Contract                      
  2. Transcripts: You must submit a record of grades from the last two years, translated into English. All pages must be uploaded as a single document
  3. Passport: Photo page of the student's passport. Identification cards are not accepted.
  4. Student’s Letter to their Host Family: This letter, written by the student, must be typed (not handwritten). It must explain their desire to come to Canada to study in the Rocky Mountain School District. It must also outline their interests/hobbies/clubs/organizations, home life, and future goals. If more than one page, it must be uploaded as a single document.
  5. Photo Album: A minimum of 3 photos uploaded as a single document. The photos should show who the student is and what their interests are. The album is shared with the host family before they arrive.
  6. Immunization Record: All immunizations relevant to the to the student's medical history and include any additional medical information. Upload as single document. Ensure you enter each type of vaccination in the immunization section of the application. 
  7. Other Relevant Documents: If you have other relevant document pertinent to admission, such as a student interview form, it must be uploaded as a single document.
