Application Instructions - Limestone International Education

Seats in the Limestone District School Board's International Education Program are limited.  

 

Before you begin

 

The Limestone District School Board (LDSB) will only accept complete applications using our secure online application system.  Incomplete or unpaid applications will not be processed.

 

Before you begin the online application process, please make sure you have collected all the necessary information and documents. All documents required for application are listed at here at the Limestone DSB International Education Site.  You will need the applicant’s complete information and at least one parent’s complete information. This includes names, birthdates, addresses, etc. Required and recommended documents (see below) must be submitted as PDF or JPEG files only and less than 5MB each. If any document is larger than 5MB, it has been scanned at too high a resolution and must be rescanned at a lower resolution before beginning the application process.

 

The application fee is $200 CAD and is nonrefundable. Please have a major credit card ready for the final page of the online application system.

 

Required documents

 

In order to submit an application, the three documents listed below are required. Please upload these to complete the application process. You have seven (7) days to complete the application.

 

  1. Application Form: Please make sure that all boxes are complete in full details.  Placement and acceptance will be based on what you tell us here.
  2. Participation agreement: The parent(s) the application must sign our agreement. Before starting the application process, please download the Participation Agreement, sign it and scan as a PDF or JPEG file only.
  3. Language Assessment:  This form should be printed, completed and scanned back.  This only determines school placement. 
  4. Immunization Records:  You will provide a list of the student's immunization records. 
  5. Transcripts or report cards: You must have a record of grades for the last two years, translated into English, they must be in PDF or JPEG files only, and less than 5MB in size. This must be a single document.
  6. Teacher Reccomendatons: Please fill out the Teacher Reccomendation Form and save. 
  7. Copy of Passport: Please scan and attach a copy of the students Passport I.D.
  8. Credit Card Authorization: Please fill out and send to us the Credit Card Authorization for processing of payments

 

Recommended documents

 

We recommend that you collect the following documents prior to applying. These documents assist us in making an admission decision should we require additional information. They must be submitted as single documents in PDF or JPEG files only and less than 5MB each.

 

  1. Passport photo page: Please scan the passport photo page of the applicant’s passport, if they have a passport already. This allows us to double-check the applicant’s information to ensure that all correspondence is correct.
  2. Letter of Recommendation: Please have a teacher, school counselor, or Headmaster/Principal write a letter of recommendation for the applicant. This letter should be on school letterhead and identify the student and their strong points. If this letter is longer than one page, make sure you scan all pages as a single document.
  3. Student’s letter of intent: This letter is written by the student explaining their desire to come to Canada and study in the Limestone District School Board (LDSB). It should outline their past studies, their interests and hobbies, and their future goals. If this letter is longer than one page, please scan all pages as a single document.
  4. Immunization records: Please scan as a single document all immunization records relevant to the students medical history. If this letter is longer than one page, please scan all pages as a single document.
  5. Custodian document for non-homestay students: If the applicant will not be part of our homestay program, or if their choose not to use our custodianship service, they must assign a custodian. This custodian must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident, over 25 years old, and must live full time in the Kingston, Ontario, Canada area.
  6. Photo albums: Show us who you are!  Send some pictures of you and your family and interests.  If you would like us to get to know you better and have social media for us to see, please send the links and we will follow you!  We use Instagram, Facebook, Line, WeChat and Twitter.  Please scan the entire album as one document.
