Application Instructions - Chilliwack School District

Step 1: School Records


First email your school records to Paul Bernard at paul_bernard@sd33.bc.ca. Once your acceptance is confirmed, continue with completing the online application in TRUE North.

 

Seats in Chilliwack School District International Program are limited. Please note that seats for students intending to graduate (staying for 2+ years) are limited to September entry only.

 

BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

 

Chilliwack School District will only accept complete applications using our secure online application system. Mailed, emailed, or faxed applications are no longer accepted. Incomplete or unpaid applications will not be processed.

 

Before you begin the online application process, please make sure you have collected all the necessary information and documents. You will need the applicant’s complete information and at least one parent’s complete information. This includes names, birthdates, addresses, etc. Required and recommended documents (see below) must be submitted as PDF or JPEG files only and less than 5MB each. If any document is larger than 5MB, it has been scanned at too high a resolution and must be rescanned at a lower resolution before beginning the application process.

 

PLEASE NOTE: Failure to disclose complete and truthful student information may result in the cancellation of the student's application, or termination of the student's placement with the SD33 International Student Program.

Required documents

 

In order to submit an application, the documents listed below are required. If you do not upload these documents into the online application system, you cannot complete the application process. If you do not submit a complete application within thirty (30) days, the partial application will be automatically deleted.

  1. Letter of Reference.  A letter of reference from the principal or teacher at the student's school, translated into English. 
  2. Record of Grades. You must have a record of grades for the last two years, translated into English, they must be in PDF or JPEG files only, and less than 5MB in size. You will only able to upload one document, so please ensure all pages of the records of grades are scanned as a single document.
  3. Passport or other government issued ID.  Passport is preferred. 
  4. Statement of Health.  The parent or guardian must have this form completed by a doctor and uploaded with the application. This form is part of the online application process.
  5. Student's Record of Immunization.  The parent or guardian must complete this checklist and provide dates of immunizations.  This form must be signed by a Physician. This form is part of the online application process.
  6. SD #33 Technology Acceptable Use Agreement. The parent or guardian must sign this agreement, which is included in the application process. 
  7. ISP Chilliwack Media Release Form.  The parent or guardian must sign this release, which is included in the application process. 
  8. Homestay Agreement. if applicable for students requiring homestay placement.
  9. Student’s Letter of Introduction. This letter is written by the student explaining their desire to come to Canada and study in Chilliwack School District. It should outline their past studies, their interests and hobbies, and their future goals. If this letter is longer than one page, make sure you scan all pages as a single document.
  10. Student Photo.  Colour photo of student to be uploaded as a required part of the online application.
  11. Participation Agreement. The parent or guardian must sign our agreement, which is included in the application. Before starting the application process, please download the Participation Agreement, have it signed in ink, and scanned as a PDF or JPEG file only. 

Recommended documents

 

We recommend that you collect the following documents prior to applying. These documents assist us in making an admission decision should we require additional information. They must be submitted as single documents in PDF or JPEG files only and less than 5MB each.

  1. Photo albums. Some students compile a photo album for our homestay placement process. Please scan the entire album as one document.
  2. Other documents. If you have another document pertinent to admission, such as a student interview form, please submit it as a single document.
