Application Instructions - Chilliwack School District

Seats in Chilliwack School District International Program are limited. Please note that seats for students intending to graduate (staying for 2+ years) are limited to September entry only.

 

BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

 

Chilliwack School District will only accept complete applications using our secure online application system. Mailed, emailed, or faxed applications are no longer accepted. Incomplete or unpaid applications will not be processed.

 

Before you begin the online application process, please make sure you have collected all the necessary information and documents. You will need the applicant’s complete information and at least one parent’s complete information. This includes names, birthdates, addresses, etc. Required and recommended documents (see below) must be submitted as PDF only and less than 5MB each. If any document is larger than 5MB, it has been scanned at too high a resolution and must be rescanned at a lower resolution before beginning the application process.

 

PLEASE NOTE: Failure to disclose complete and truthful student information may result in the cancellation of the student's application, or termination of the student's placement with the SD33 International Student Program.

Required documents

 

In order to submit an application, the documents listed below are required. If you do not upload these documents into the online application system, you cannot complete the application process. If you do not submit a complete application within thirty (30) days, the partial application will be automatically deleted.

  1. Record of Grades. You must have a record of grades for the last two years, they must be PDF files only, and less than 5MB in size. You will only able to upload one document, so please ensure all pages of the records of grades are scanned as a single document. Students pursuing a BC Graduation Diploma must upload a translated copy of their Grade 10 and 11 school records.
  2. Passport or other government issued ID. A valid Passport is preferred.
  3. Student’s Introduction Video. Students are asked to provide a link to a short 2-5 minute video, in English, including:
    • reasons for wanting to study in Canada;
    • areas of interest, hobbies, past studies, and future goals;
    • current daily lifestyle, activities, pastimes; and,
    • top two priorities during their experience in Canada.
  4. Student Photo. Colour photo of student to be uploaded as a required part of the online application.
  5. Participation Agreement. The parent or guardian must sign our agreement, which is included in the application. Before starting the application process, please download the Participation Agreement, have it signed in ink, and scanned as a PDF file only. 

Recommended documents

 

We recommend that you collect the following documents prior to applying. These documents assist us in making an admission decision should we require additional information. They must be submitted as single documents in PDF format and less than 5MB each.

  1. English Assessment Results such as ELTIS, Eiken, Duolingo, etc.
  2. Photo albums. Some students compile a photo album for our homestay placement process. Please scan the entire album as one document.
  3. Other documents. If you have another document pertinent to admission, such as a student interview form, please submit it as a single document.
